Thank you for visiting this site! Here is some general information you should know about Miss Parsons' elementary Physical Education (Phys. Ed.) classes:
Students in Kindergarten through Grade 5 attend Phys. Ed. three days per week for 30 minutes each.
When coming to the gym, children must wear sneakers and they are encouraged to bring a water bottle.
Classes begin with a warm-up followed by a lesson and then time is provided for practice. Classes conclude with an activity or game.
The goals of Phys. Ed. are to help students develop the motor skills, knowledge and positive attitudes needed to lead physically active lifestyles. At this level a lot of emphasis is placed upon developing the gross motor skills needed so children can participate in a wide variety of activities. Students are encouraged to always try their best and cooperate with one another so that everyone can have FUN!
Assessment in Phys. Ed. occurs in three main domains: Movement Skills & Concepts, Movement Strategies & Well-being.
